Special Notices

New England SCRABBLE® League is a social SCRABBLE® club founded in June, 2015 and organized via Meetup.com. As of June, 2016, the group meets at the Panera restaurant at 228 Main Street in Wilmington, MA. Meetings have been on every Saturday starting at 3 p.m., but they may be changed to two Saturdays per month; to be sure about this, check with the organizer. Meetings last for about three hours, according to the attendees; players may stay until Panera closes at 10 p.m. There is no requirement to stay late. If you have time for only one game, don't hestitate to show up. It is suggested that when you attend, you order food or drinks from Panera.

The group is welcoming to newcomers to the area who want to meet new people, as well as people who want to work on developing their SCRABBLE® skills and aren't prepared for the tournament scene yet. Folks happy playing online but wanting a bit more competition in real life would probably be very comfortable. Clocks are not used, some games are among more than two players, and dictionaries and cheat sheeets may be referenced while playing.

The cost for attending is $2 per week, enough that it usually covers the monthly Meetup.com dues. You are encouraged to register at Meetup.com using the following link, and registration is free. See: http://www.meetup.com/New-England-Scrabble-League
